Vintage Design
The “Aban” table in a sense embodies this quote. Its specifications are short: it must be unalterable and invariably beautiful.
A misstep could have happened so easily, like the naive addition of a few ornaments in the hope of achieving a so-called immutable beauty.
It is not so ! Juggling these parameters so as not to fall into a lack of taste is certainly not an easy thing, but the challenge was accomplished wonderfully.
A little return to the past, more precisely to the beginning of the 70s. After in-depth studies on the development of the “converging-lines” legs, Pierre Chapo adapted this architectural design to his tables and then applied it to other of his creations such as the S34 chairs or the S31 stools.
Perfect proportions, deep golden elm. This clever mix is finally enhanced by the sculptural faceted base and the subtle joints details at the end of the table.
This is the largest model in the T35 series, the T35D. (Note that this is not a reissue, late 80s edition)
