Perret & Vibert, also known as the House of Bamboo, was founded in Paris in 1879 by Alfred Perret. Primarily specialized in the production of bamboo furniture and luxury baskets, as well as the import of authentic Japanese items for a wealthy Parisian clientele.
Located at 33 rue du Quatre-Septembre, the company specialized in the early 1880s in the production of carved wood furniture and lacquered furniture with Far Eastern inspiration. Perret & Vibert, true creators of their time, the “Maison des Bambous” enjoyed a reputation that went far beyond the borders of France. The most prominent personalities from around the world visited the shop and decorated their homes with Perret & Vibert creations.
